The 6th International Conference on Gas Hydrates was held in Vancouver, BC, Canada, 6th-10th July 2008 with a record of 526 Participants. A record 417 manuscripts were presented in the oral and poster sessions.

The First International Conference on Gas Hydrates (IICG) took place in New Paltz, New York (US) in 1993. The Conference has since taken place in Toulouse (France) in 1996, Salt Lake City (US) in 1999, Yokohama (Japan) in 2002 and Trondheim (Norway) in 2005.
